At MemBrain, the 12th annual Student Work Workshop took place, where an expert jury recognized the best short-term and long-term projects. The jury, consisting of doc. Ing. Pavel Izák, Ph.D., DSc. (ÚCHP AV ČR, v. v. i.), Ing. Robert Válek (MemBrain) and Ing. Jan Křivčík (MEGA), awarded Bc. Karin Lovrantová (VŠCHT Praha) for the best short-term work and Ing. Jana Floreková (VŠCHT Praha) for her dissertation. We thank the city of Česká Lípa for its support and the Membrane Innovation Center for providing the venue.

Students from Jan Blahoslav Secondary School took part in a company tour complemented by short blocks focused on sales, marketing, and process management. The goal of the visit was to bring industrial practice closer and motivate students to continue their studies. From 19.9.2024, a company flood relief fundraiser has been launched on the Darujme.cz platform. Help with us and join the financial fundraiser of MEGA Group employees who are not indifferent to the fate of people affected by floods that significantly hit some areas of the Czech Republic. Not only employees, but anyone can contribute. Financial help is currently one of the most needed forms of support and will go toward immediate and follow-up material or psychosocial assistance, or crisis intervention, through the organization Člověk v Tísni. A meeting of the scientific community, industry experts, and technologists, who presented and discussed the latest advances in membrane technologies, including their development and new applications.

Summer internships for 7 students. This year, these are students from VŠCHT studying chemical engineering, hydrogen and membrane technologies, as well as students from TUL studying nanomaterials, a student from UJEP studying chemistry and toxicology, and a student from Algeria studying materials chemistry.

In May and June, we organized two tours for VŠCHT students, both Czech students in chemical engineering and students from all over the world enrolled in the ERASMUS program at VŠCHT.

On 1.6.2024, we took part in the Fairytale Trail event in Stráž pod Ralskem, where we prepared one of the fairytale stations for children as part of Children's Day. Children competed with Krakonoš, Hanče and the forester, and took home a sweet reward from us. In total, 180 children visited the station, despite the fact that it rained all day.

On 30.5.2024, the ceremonial handover of a social services vehicle took place. It will be used to provide home care and field healthcare services for Mimoň and surrounding municipalities. The vehicle was funded by several dozen sponsors, including MEGA. This is already the seventh vehicle for the facility in Mimoň, which cares for seniors and people with disabilities.

Health is a gift that needs care. We at MEGA realize this, and for the second year we prepared many interesting health-related activities for our employees as part of the preventive health program "May Health Days". The program included extended consultations with health specialists, the Do práce na kole challenge, healthy eating, first aid training, charity projects, and many more activities. As in previous years, MEGA employees joined the charity event "Day Against Cancer" again this year. At our workplace in Stráž pod Ralskem, volunteers from the local children's leisure community Výři collected donations for the fundraiser supporting breast cancer prevention.
Proceeds from the offered calendula flowers will support cancer prevention, improve the quality of life of oncology patients, support oncology education and research, and help equip oncology centers. Learn more about the fight against cancer program.
