That electrophoretic cells with RALEX® membranes are used around the whole world?

The first industrial application was cleaning of contaminated uranium mining water and has proven its efficiency. Electroseparation solves two issues at once: minimizes the amount of waste and recovers valuable ingredients from the effluent stream.

The RALEX® membranes provide excellent mechanical and electrochemical properties. High heat and chemical stability allow use in different industries including food processing and a lifetime up to 10 years. Low electric conductivity and high permselectivity keep the operation cost down and provide reliable separation.

We have been researching and manufacturing membranes since 1985. The Membrane Innovation Center with experienced experts and state-of-the-art equipment pushes boundaries of possible in electromembrane separation. New membranes are more efficient and last longer.

MEGA is developing and manufacturing the RALEX® membranes. We use them to produce stacks, modules and electrophoretic cells. The RALEX® membranes are suitable for applications in electromembrane processes like electrodialysis (ED/EDR), electrodeionisation (EDI) or electrophoresis (EF).

These processes are used in many industries including automotive, food industry, power and heating or semiconductors. Electrodialysis is also used for indutrial waste water treatment.

MEGA is one of few world's manufacturers of heterogeneous ion-exchange membranes. We are producing membranes in rolls, cut-out sheets and tubes, both welded tubular and extruded tubular.

Our patented manufacturing line allows us to produce membranes in sizes and forms fitting common and custom industrial units.

ENERGY at Ústí nad Labem, Czechia

Rehabilitation and upgrade of process water treatment plant

MEGA has supplied High Purity Water Treatment EDI units as a part of novel membrane-only water treatment solution. The facility in the company ENERGY at Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic, needed an update after tens of years of heavy duty.

Ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis and EDI units were selected to process river water into ultrapure water. MPure™ EDI by MEGA has proven to be able to operate in demanding conditions with high CO2 level, cope with differences in input feed and steadily provide the heating facility with the ultrapure water with 16 MΩ resistivity.
